I have heard similar numbers put forth before regarding the vast petroleum and natural gas reserves that are in the United States and quite frankly I hope the numbers are as high as he describes. I’m not fixated on if President Obama lied about these numbers or perhaps just got bad information from his advisers, but what does trouble me is if we do have this much energy resources then why the heck aren’t we using them? Seems like a whole lot of jobs could be created while we get off of foreign oil.

How to Recall US Senators and Congressmen

Below is a list of the senators and congressmen who voted to sell us and our American rights down the river as if we had never been born with them. The right to recall federal officials is firmly established by the Tenth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution as a power "not prohibited" by the Constitution and therefore "reserved to the states" and "to the people."   As proponents of limited government, the Constitution was to be viewed as a straitjacket on the government, outlining limited powers, not a straitjacket on the people, whose rights only ended where they began to infringe on the rights of others.   The Tenth Amendment states:
"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution  nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States  respectively, or to the people."

 Do not let any state legislator tell you that you cannot recall senators or congressmen.  Only two state courts have decided this, Idaho and New Jersey, which do not apply to other states.  In both cases the reasoning was weak and specious.  The Idaho court said that the law was unconstitutional because it would constitute a new "qualification" for office in addition to age, residency and inhabitancy, the existing stated qualifications in the U.S. Constitution.  This reasoning is weak and a poor crutch for other states.    

In NJ Chief Justice Stuart Rabner wrote "The court finds that ... the federal Constitution does not allow states the power to recall U.S. senators."  This is odd because in fact the Constitution explicitly allows, by not disallowing("prohibiting" in the Tenth Amendment,) the states the power to recall US senators and congressmen.  
"The powers not...prohibited...are reserved to the States...or to the people."
The states' right to recall is even more firmly anchored in the document antecedent to the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, which states:
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.That  to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving  their just powers from the consent of the governed, That whenever any  Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of  the People to alter or to abolish it... --  Declaration of Independence as originally written by Thomas Jefferson, 1776." 
The Supreme Court declared in 1897:
The Constitution is the body and letter of which the Declaration of Independence is the thought and the spirit, and it is always safe to read the letter of the Constitution in the spirit of the Declaration of Independence.
The Constitution itself connects itself to the Declaration of Independence by dating itself from the date of the Declaration of Independence, thereby showing clearly that it is the second great document in the government of these United States and is not to be understood without the first.

The Constitutional includes provisions for the expulsion of a member from either House by a vote of other members.  It would be absurd to  conclude that the Founders, who reserved all rights to the people including the right to "abolish" the government, and who held that all governance was only by "consent of the governed," intended for congressmen to be more  responsible to their colleagues than to the people they represent.  If members of the Congress can expel members, their own constituents certainly can, given properly constructed recall laws.

"Properly constructed" should be taken to mean of gravity and import.  Being a member of Congress should not be a popularity contest.  But when it comes to questions of Constitutional import, these are questions which properly revert back to the people and the states.  These are questions to be resolved in properly designed recall legislation.

18 states presently have recall laws: Alaska, Arizona, California,  Colorado, Georgia, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota,  Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, North Dakota, Oregon, Rhode Island,  Washington and Wisconsin.  In some of these states federal officials are excluded, but not in others.  States without recall laws would need them passed in the state legislatures, which boils down to lobbying state representatives and senators hard.

State representative and assembly districts are small and can be run for easily by ordinary citizens with little money.  They are a tiny fraction of the size of a congressional district and can be door-knocked in a few months.  State senators and representatives seeing challenges coming over their stand on the federal recall issue are more likely to get on the side of the people.

Almost as importantly, active recall drives and drives to pass new recall laws over the NDAA's indefinite military detention of American citizens keeps the issue in the fore.  This vital since most people still are unaware of what is taking place.  This will require a long-term, voter to voter education campaign for which recall can serve as the vehicle.  "Why would you want to recall old Senator So-and-So?" - your neighbors will ask.  Wait until they find out.

Here is one possible model recall law to present to your state representatives, just change the name of the state it is will serve as a first draft.

Power now reverts back to the states, since the federal government  has egregiously violated and sought to overturn our "unalienable  rights," and we must call on our state legislators, who are closest to  us, to recall our federal representatives from Washington who voted for  this.

A Longer View

Taking the longer view of a nationwide wave of recall drives against politicians who have broken their oath to "protect and defend the Constitution," these are vital to show that the American people will not let this stand and will fight to reclaim our birthrights as Americans in a peaceful and democratic way.  What the congress and the president have done constitutes nothing less than a threat to us and our families, by declaring the authority for what amounts to kidnap, torture, and execution without trial or due process.  We are taking this threat seriously.

But the government's over-reach into our sacred rights might also finally bring us, at long last, to that national re-examination so long overdue since 9/11, which started the train of federal government usurpation  of basic rights in the name of "security."  For although George W. Bush declared that the terrorists "hated us for our freedoms," it was never Al Qaeda which took a vote on the Senate floor to abolish the Bill of Rights, but our very own "domestic enemies" of the Constitution.

That the breath-taking power grab takes place just as a fresh awakening has occurred, taking aim at the corrupting influence of money in our political system, cannot be ignored.  The monied powers which rob the taxpayers of trillions in bailouts for irresponsible business practices have been challenged by Occupy Wall Street.  The connection between this challenge and the attempted usurpation of our rights is hard to know.

Recall drives against a good number of federal elected officials, based on clearly righteous grounds, might open the way to a new responsiveness in our ossified institutions, by shadowing incumbents at re-election time, encouraging resignations, or, perhaps even, prompting the lawmakers themselves to mend their ways, and become true advocates for their constituents rather than for the bags of money which prowl their halls.  It is truly a shame that many of these politicians who had noble entrances into political life, as reformers and mavericks, now conclude these careers as the worst traitors to their sworn oaths that the nation has ever seen.
The legal definition of "treason" is "[betrayal], treachery, or breach of allegiance."   The American oath is a statement of allegiance which makes no mention of any foreign powers, defense of territory, or defense of institutions.  It is a statement of allegiance to the Constitution and the Constitution alone.  The Oath  of Office of the U.S. senator and congressman, required by the  Constitution before assuming duties, as well as any American military  officer, is:

"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and  defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies,  foreign and domestic."
However, there are some who object to the words "traitor" and "treason" when applied to the senators and congressmen who voted for the NDAA, citing Article 3 of the Constitution:
"Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort. No person shall be convicted of treason unless on the testimony of two witnesses to the same overt act, or on confession in open court."
The Oath required to be sworn by by the Constitution makes provision for defending the Constitution (and nothing else) against "enemies both foreign and domestic."  So there is nothing limiting those enemies who "levy war" to foreign powers, as the "enemy combatant" doctrine acknowledges.  This doctrine states that enemies of the United States can be either U.S. citizen or non-citizen.

    The question then becomes can those who seek to overthrow a central part of the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, be considered guilty of treason?  The Constitution can be legitimately changed only by Constitutional Convention.

Given the clear affirmation in the founding document even more primary than the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, that the government is "instituted" to "secure these [unalienable] rights," of which right to a jury trial is one, I would argue yes.

This passage of the Declaration is so beautiful, concise, and comprehensive that it always bears reproduction in full:

Your Brain

Your brain is the most complex organ in your body. It weighs just 3 pounds, is composed of over 100 billion cells called neurons, and is the focal center of all activities. It is where higher reasoning, creativity, learning, imagination, planning, and even your sense of identity originate. Each of your brain's 100 billion neurons connects to 10,000 others, forging a grand total of somewhere between 100 to 1,000 trillion connections strung together by 90 MILLION meters of neural fibers. Yet all of this neural density weighs only three to four pounds, and is contained within a cranium no more than 1 1/2 liters in volume. The Cerebral Cortex, the largest part of your brain, is responsible for higher thought and function and contains roughly 15 to 33 BILLION neurons (depending on gender and age) which are linked to 10,000 synaptic connections each. Each cubic millimeter of Cerebral Cortex contains roughly one BILLION synapses.



Neurons communicate with each other via electrical impulses sent from the nucleus of each cell to the surrounding neurons. Your brain controls your body through this network of neurons. The brain receives information from numerous sensory receptors throughout the body, decides which of these sensory stimuli deserve attention, and send commands to initiate or inhibit various responses.

Your brain is composed of 7 sections. Four of these influence memory and concentration:

Temporal Lobe - controls memory storage, emotion, hearing, and language.
Frontal Lobe - is the most recently-evolved part of the brain and the last to develop in young adulthood. Its dorso-lateral prefrontal circuit is the brain’s CEO. The Frontal Lobe organizes responses to complex problems, plans steps to objectives, searches memory for relevant experience, adapts strategies to accommodate new data, guides behavior with verbal skills, and houses working memory. Its orbitofrontal circuit manages emotional impulses in socially appropriate ways for productive behaviors including empathy, altruism, and interpretation of facial expressions. Stroke in this area is typically accompanied by foul language and foolish behavior.
Occipital Lobe - processes visual data and routes it to other parts of the brain for identification and storage.
Hippocampus - processes new memories for long-term storage. This evolutionarily ancient part of the Cerebral Cortex is located deep within the brain in the inner fold of the temporal lobe. It If you didn't have a Hippocampus, you couldn't live in the present. You would be living in the past with old memories. This ability to be "present" is one of the first to falter as Alzheimer's disease progresses.
Memory


Memory is the brain function that allows you to store and retrieve information. There are sensory memories (taste, visual, tactile) as well as more conceptually based memories (episodic, procedural, declarative). All of these individual memory modes combine to form complex and varied remembrances.
Information decoded in sensory areas of the Cerebral Cortex converges in the Hippocampus where new sensations are compared with previously recorded ones and associations are formed amongst the various object properties. When you remember new facts by repeating them or by employing various mnemonic devices, you are actually passing them through the Hippocampus several times. The Hippocampus keeps strengthening the associations amongst these new elements until the Cerebral Cortex learns to link the diverse properties to reconstruct "memory".





During the moments in which a memory was created, your brain was processing thousands of pieces of information, and had to decide which data was important enough to store for later retrieval. You might remember the emotions of fear and excitement, the tactile sensation of wind on your arms, and procedural information and episodic information like the time of day, your age, and your general surroundings.

Some information seeped into your short-term memory from which you were able to retrieve it for a few hours or even a couple of days. This ability to hold onto a piece of information temporarily in order to complete a task is genuinely human. Short-term memory usage causes your Pre-Frontal Lobe to become very active.

But only that information most central to the memory as a whole makes it into your long-term memory, where it lives for years and possibly an entire lifetime. Information is transferred from short-term memory to long-term memory through the Hippocampus.



Memory problems are attributed to a variety of factors:
Depression - Slows a multitude of mental processes. It is the most common contributor to memory problems. There are about 9,000,000 people in America who suffer from depression. 340,000,000 people in the world have depression. Its growing predominance will make it the second most common health problem by 2010. Depression sufferers are twice as likely to develop memory problems. Depression also raises risk of Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia.
Stress - Anxiety and stressful life events (such as work-related problems, relationship problems, bereavement) affect your ability to store and recall memories. Approximately 65% of Americans are not getting sufficient sleep due to stress. Proper sleep is essential for optimal brain function.
Aging - During your mid-40s and 50s, it is quite normal to feel you have become more forgetful. Surveys indicate 75% of people over the age of 50 report that they experienced memory problems in the past year. At birth, the brain weighs less than a pound, but by the time you are 20 years of age, it weighs approximately 3 pounds. However, the brain shrinks as you age. The loss of brain cells occurs as neurons die and spaces between the neurons (synapses) shrink. This shrinking occurs slowly, but nearly 30 percent of your brain’s mass will be lost by the time you are in your 70s. The Hippocampus (essential for new memory creation) will lose a total of 20 percent of nerve cells by the time you turn 80. Your memory is affected because there are fewer neurons on which to impress memories, as well as fewer connections for retrieving those memories. However memory loss is not automatic as you age - a study of 111 people aged 90-100 years showed that over half had a strikingly good memory!
Hormonal Imbalance - Dramatic decline in estrogen and progesterone levels have a significant impact on memory retention. Research suggests a link between the hormone estrogen and Alzheimer's disease in women. Menopause (the stage of life when a woman stops menstruating and her body produces less estrogen) is associated with an increase in the onset of Alzheimer's disease. Thyroid problems can also lead to insufficient secretion of hormones that support your brain's memory-related activities.
Head Injury - A recent study of veterans showed that head injury early in life is associated with a higher risk of Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia as you age. Furthermore, the risk of Alzheimer's disease increases with the severity of the head injury.
Toxins - The accumulation of evironmental toxins such as aluminum and mercury in the brain has been liked to memory deterioration and Alzheimer's disease.
Chemical Deficiency - People afflicted with Alzheimer's disease have abnormally low levels of acetylcholine in their brains. This highlights the importance of brain chemistry in maintaining good memory.
Dehydration - Not having enough fluid in your body adversely affects your nervous system as well as vital organs that support body functions.
Side-Effects - Many pharmaceutical medicines adversely affect brain function, memory, and concentration.
Infection - Brain abscess, encephalitis, meningitis, sepsis, and other illnesses restrict blood flow to the brain. This fosters neuron degeneration and memory loss.
Concentration
The key to performing well in all facets of life is a calm, relaxed, and focused mind. Any task that demands a certain degree of mental effort naturally requires concentration. As your interest becomes fully engaged, you enter a trance-like state and achieve higher levels of concentration. The level is proportional to mental effort.

Concentration problems arise from a multitude of factors:
Brain Chemistry - The ability to concentrate depends on the sufficient presence of hormones, neurotransmitters, and chemicals (like dopamine) in the Pre-Frontal Cortex of the brain.
Sleep Deprivation - Without sufficient sleep, your body becomes oxygen deprived. Oxygen is necessary for the brain to produce dopamine and other chemicals that keep you focused.
Stress - Stress increases norepinephrine and cortisol levels in your body. These chemicals invoke a hyperfocus mode ("tunnel vision") which causes you to fully concentrate on the stress inducing situation. This makes it difficult for you to think about anything else.
Insufficient Nutrition - Nutritional deficiencies deprive nerve cells of substances required for transmitting nerve impulses. Thus, the brain is not able to work productively.
Emotional Strain - Anxiety and emotional stress produce a cluttered mind which degrades your ability to prioritize and focus.
Memory & Concentration Disorders

As often is the case, minor imbalances in the body can lead to chronic illness. The common ailments related to memory and concentration are:
ADHD (Attention-Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder) is also known as hyperactivity or attention deficit disorder (ADD). It is a common condition that afflicts both children and adults.Between 3 to 10 percent of children (approximately 2,000,000 in the United States) have ADHD; 30 to 50 percent of these children continue to exhibit ADHD through adulthood. Roughly 5% (354,000,000) of the world's population is afflicted with ADHD.
Symptoms of ADHD are inattention, impulsivity, and hyperactivity. Children with ADHD have difficulty following instructions and are easily bored or frustrated with tasks. Adults with ADHD are poor in time management, organizational skills, goal setting, and job performance. They may also have problems with relationships, self-esteem, and addictions. Possible contributors to ADHD include genetics (the basis for the majority cases), brain injury, improper nutrition, food additives and sugar, lead exposure, and maternal smoking.
Alzheimer’s Disease mainly afflicts the elderly. About 1% of people in their 60s, 20% of those over 85 years, and 30% of those over 90 are affected. Approximately 26,600,000 people in the world suffer from Alzheimer's Disease. The number is expected to double by 2050. Factors that may increase the risk of developing Alzheimer's disease include genetics, age, hormonal imbalance, menopause, environmental toxins, autoimmune disorder, and chemical deficiencies. While there is no cure for Alzheimer's disease and no proven treatment to slow its progression, there are a number of drugs available that help improve the mental function. When these medications are administered early during the course of the disease, they enable Alzheimer sufferers to carry on with daily activities and independent living for a longer period of time and prolong the time that family members can provide sufficient home care. Exercise, good nutrition, interesting activities, and social interaction in a calm, structured environment also help slow disease progression.
Amnesia is generally caused by physical brain injury or exposure to toxic substances. Emotional trauma can also engender memory loss. There are several types of Amnesia:
Anterograde - events before a trauma are remembered while new ones are not.
Retrograde - events after a trauma are remembered but not before.
Transient - inability to form new memories with milder loss of past memories. This is most common amongst the elderly with vascular disease.
Traumatic - induced by brain damage from a hard blow to the head and characterized by brief loss of conciousness leading to coma.
Wernike-Korsakoff - precipitated by alcohol abuse. This progressive memory loss is often accompanied by neurological problems.
Infantile - inability to recall events from early childhood onwards.



There is no medication for Amnesia.


Dementia is not a disease but a group of symptoms marked by gradual degradation of brain function and the ability to think, reason, and remember. Serious changes in memory, personality, and behavior are the hallmarks of Dementia. It is precipitated by an underlying disease or condition. When brain tissue is damaged, the ability to function decreases. Some of these conditions can be reversed, while others cannot. The most common cause of Dementia is Alzheimer's disease. Here changes in nerve cells in some parts of the brain result in the death of large numbers of cells. The result is a slow progressive decline in memory and thought processes. Another common form of Dementia is Multi-Infarct Dementia where small strokes or changes in the blood supply to the brain from the narrowing or hardening of arteries cause the death of brain tissue. Symptoms appear suddenly and depend on which part of the brain tissue is destroyed.
The world prevalence rate of dementia is less than 1% for people in their 60s rising to 39% for those in their 90s. In the United Kingdom alone, 400,000 elderly suffer from it. Doctors typically prescribe blood pressure and cholesterol medications for people with vascular dementia. These drugs cannot reverse existing dementia, but they do prevent future strokes and heart disease that can lead to further brain damage.



Hyperactivity has been linked to elevated lead levels in the blood. Chelation therapy is advocated (especially for children) for reducing lead levels in the body.
Stroke commonly leads to temporary memory impairment for a period of 3 to 6 months.
Thyroid Dysfunction affects the attention and hyper-active-impulsive systems. Children with ADHD should be screened for thyroid dysfunction if there are symptoms to suggest thyroid dysfunction. It can be caused by lithium-based mood stabilizers which are used to treat bipolar disorder (manic depression).
Weakened Immune System makes your body more susceptible to ADHD and other psychiatric disorders. Deterioriation is frequently due to reliance on antibiotics which kills friendly bacteria in the body that aid in toxin elimination. As toxins accumulate, you get sick more often and rely more on antibiotics which in turn continually deplete friendly bacteria from your body.





Western Medicine
Western medicine relies on aggressive and costly prescription drugs to deal with problems related to memory and concentration. These methods generally address only the symptoms and not the underlying causes. As soon as you stop using the drugs, the problem returns! Also these prescription drugs often result in unwanted and even dangerous side effects.

The options for drug treatment are bewildering: Alpha-Tocopherol, B-Secretase Inhibitors, Calcium Channel Blockers, Cloquinol, Donepezil, Estrogen, Galatamine, Intravenous Immunoglobulin (IVIg), Memantine, Neotropin, Nootropics, NSAIDS, Rivstigmine, Selegeline, Statins, Tacrine, and Vaccines. Typically once drug treatment begins, it is recommended for life and usually involves a multitude of medications.

Now that the healthcare bill has passed and been signed into law, one must inquire: How will the federal government keep track of the millions of persons in America now (supposedly) required to operate according to the federal government’s healthcare program?
Now that the federal government is responsible to ensure that millions of people’s health concerns are treated or eliminated, how will the federal government distribute, execute, and ration its resources paid for by tax dollars? Now that the federal government has a vested interest in the health of hundreds of millions of Americans, how will they ensure that the system itself can be maintained by the government?
Identifying the means and methods by which the government will accomplish their task is less than speculative. Though the legislation itself does not mandate this technology to be used, as we reported five years ago, the implantation of Radio Frequency Identification chips (RFID) into all persons within the government’s healthcare system for purposes of “prevention, detection and treatment of diseases” is a primary objective of a number of government officials and industry proponents. Whether or not they will be successful in doing so remains to be seen.
RFID Chip
What is the RFID chip? It is a small electronic computer device placed into the skin of a person that can be used for identification, tracking, information storage and interfacing with external sources, such as for financial, business, commercial, governmental, educational, and medical institutions. In other words, an RFID can be utilized for every area of life.
Many legitimate and natural questions have been raised about RFID chips, like: What are the societal risks of the RFID chip? What are the foreseeable or likely governmental abuses? How does its implementation relate to the principles of freedom in a Constitutional Republic? Will I be able to maintain my rights of privacy and other liberties if I have an RFID implanted in my skin for societal and governmental purposes? As we will show, the answers are very relevant, because it is known that the federal government will likely mandate that these RFID chips be implanted into all persons in America.
The German IT industry group BITKOM recently conducted a survey that found that one out of four Germans would willingly, without force of law, have a RFID chip placed inside their skin for societal and governmental purposes. Perhaps those in the United States are not much different. The idea of a microchip being implanted into your body for these purposes has been around for several years and is only becoming more popular and accepted.
Advocates for RFID for Societal and Government Purposes
Some of the most well-known and widely listened to news commentators and political leaders have advocated the use of RFID chips for societal and government purposes. Andy Rooney, news commentator on CBS’s 60 Minutes, said on February 10, 2002: "Something has to change. They have to find a better way to identify the bad guys or the rest of us are gonna’ stay home and watch the world go by on television…. We need some system for permanently identifying safe people…. I wouldn't mind having something planted permanently in my arm that would identify me.''
While interviewing Scott Silverman (Applied Digital CEO), Sean Hannity said on October 24, 2008: “[Parents are saying:] we can’t even allow our kids to play in the front yard. Is there anything — technologically speaking — that [parents] can do that can help the situation, like a kidnapping. Is there, for example, a microchip…we can use for our kids?” In the interview, Silverman describes a PLD, which is an acronym for “Personal Locating Device,” which is an RFID chip. This PLD is to be implanted into the body of the “child or someone you are interested in tracking.”
While Hannity initially presents the RFID’s use into the context of “protecting children from being kidnapped,” Silverman quickly admits the multi-function purpose of the RFID: “It is the first implantable microchip for humans that has multiple security, financial and healthcare applications.” Sean Hannity’s response: “I love this idea, Scott.” Security, financial, and healthcare: These are the vast categories of use which would encompass all of human life and activity in America.
Three years earlier, Silverman already outlined his ambitions for revolutionizing healthcare in the United States. A July 25, 2005 WebMD article opened with this bold query: "They're here. They have FDA approval. But are Americans ready to get chipped?"
According to WebMD, Silverman offered the following statistics as support for his company's technology in relation to medical care:
"When we first announced VeriChip, a network poll asked people if they would put one in their bodies," Silverman tells WebMD. "Only 9% said yes. After FDA approval, 19% said yes. When former HHS Secretary Tommy Thompson joined our board, the rate went up to 33%. But our own study shows that if you ask people whether they would have a VeriChip implant to identify their medical records in case of an emergency, the positive response goes to 80%."
WebMD concluded its report with this unsettling thought: "... Silverman says, some 2,000 people worldwide are using them for medical or security purposes. But soon he expects that millions of people will get VeriChip implants every year."
On July 31, 2005, in an articled titled "'Health Chips' Could Help Patients in US," The Business reported: "President Bush's former health secretary Tommy Thompson is putting the final touches to a plan that could result in US citizens having a radio frequency identification (RFID) chip inserted under their skin." Thompson's purpose in doing so? According to The Business: "The RFID capsules would be linked to a computerised database being created by the US Department of Health to store and manage the nation's health records."
Two months before these scattered news reports made less-than-noticed headlines, Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-Tenn.) and Senator Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) introduced S. 1262, the “Health Technology to Enhance Quality Act of 2005.” During a press conference at George Washington University Hospital, Senator Clinton stated: “This legislation marries technology and quality to create a seamless, efficient health care system for the 21st century.” Senator Frist characterized it as “an interoperable national health information technology system." The only way to have an interoperable information system is to have a unique identifier for each person in the system, which can't be altered, lost, stolen, or tampered with. In 2005, Clinton and her allies sought to lay the technological infrastructure for just such a system. Now that health care has been nationalized, why would they approach things any differently?
So, will the “common person” in America accept the implantation of an RFID for societal and government purposes? Some already are. Daniel Hickey, a retired Navy Commander, expresses his of-course-attitude when interviewed by Channel 5, WPTZ news: “They’ve been putting them into dogs and cats for years. It’s about time they put them into human beings.” Perhaps like Germany, the numbers of those who accept this idea in America will only continue to grow.
Plans for RFID Chips for Healthcare
The facts already establish that certain infrastructure in America is being implemented to incorporate the use and application of the RFID chip. Today, hospitals throughout Americaare already implementing RFID technology and have begun implanting RFID chips into their patients for medical purposes, such as those who suffer from Alzheimer.
Openly, “a number of U.S. hospitals have begun implanting patients with RFID tags and using RFID systems, usually for workflow and inventory management.” There are various groups that openly advocate for the use of RFID chips for all medical patients. As a result of this movement, many predict that the investment value of RFID technology will increase exponentially and dramatically, making many people very rich.
Even “the Department of Homeland Security has indicated it likes the concept of RFID chips,” CNN reported several years ago in an article about the Real ID Act. For what purpose does Homeland Security like RFID chips to be implanted into people’s skin? You name it. The same CNN report also noted that the Real ID Act required that "the IDs must include a 'common machine-readable technology' that must meet requirements set out by the Department of Homeland Security." — which could very well have meant RFID chips, though as the article pointed out, other possibilities could have included magnetic strips or enhanced bar codes. The Real ID Act requirements were derailed by a firestorm of resistance from the states. But there is, without question, a push by the private industry, investors, and the federal government to accept and (as time will tell) force this type of technology for “security, financial and healthcare” purposes.
Pre-Obama Nationalization of Healthcare and Use of RFID
What few people know is that the federal government has been making attempts to national the healthcare system for years, relating back to the Clinton administration’s push to create a National Identification for medical purposes, and which continued during the Bush administration.
To effectuate a national healthcare system, the federal government advances the use of RFID technology to be used in each medical patient for healthcare purposes. More than just for the treatment of the patient, the federal government proposes a “nationwide electronic health care information network for research and disease prevention.”
Without equivocation, on October 19, 1992, Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Louis W. Sullivan, said: "It is our intention to act on our own and with the private sector in every area where we have authority to bring the new electronic network into being.” It was this same “electronic network” of healthcare that was advanced by G.W. Bush during his administration: “Strengthening the health care safety net is a necessary part of improving American's access to care.”
To the federal government, the purpose of creating a nationalized electronic safety network was to “research to improve the prevention, detection and treatment of diseases.” As became law under the Medicare Prescription Drug Improvement and Modernization Act of 2003, the federal government recognized their role in “disease management programs” through their healthcare safety network. Then, one year after the FDA approved the full use of the RFID chips in humans, by executive order in 2005, G.W. Bush ordered HHS “to create a nationwide interoperable health information technology infrastructure.”
In conjunction with and to the end of creating a nationwide health information infrastructure, HHS is to advance “the development, adoption, and implementation of health information technology standards nationally through collaboration among public and private interests that are consistent with current efforts of the Federal Government [for the prevention, detection and treatment of diseases].” This collaboration with public and private interests easily identifies the method by which this national safety network system will be effectuated: RFID technology.
Some of the most highly influential medical groups and organizations propose not only that the private industry utilize RFID technology, but also that the federal government use its “policy-making” power to advance its use of an electronic healthcare safety network and to abandon the old methods. In short, each patient would and should be required to possess an RFID chip before getting medical treatment.
The New Healthcare Application
Today, the federal government has more motivation and incentive than ever to create and mandate a national safety network system. They have been working on it for 20 years or more, but its reality is with us today. The federal government now has the responsibility and power to control much (if not all) of the regulations and systems used in the medical industry, including how patients will be identified, processed, and treated through the system. Its vested interest in the entire medical industry and in the cost of healthcare for each person will undoubtedly create a system of control upon the lives of those within its system.
To do this, facts reveal that the federal government will utilize RFID chip technology and will require every person within the healthcare system to receive this chip into their bodies. For some Americans, this may be acceptable, just as it is for one out of four persons in Germany. For others Americans, this is going to be a serious and fundamental line in the sand.
Consequently, these questions must be asked. Who will submit? Who will resist? What will the states do to protect their citizens from these mandates? What will the states do to require their citizens to comply with these mandates? What will the individual do to receive medical treatment who does not take this chip? Where will the individual go to receive quality medical treatment if all medical facilities require that you have this RFID chip? What penalties will be imposed upon those who do not take this chip?
These are all questions which must be answered and realized, because inevitably, the federal government will do all that it can to implement a RFID chip system.
