"We're excited for this season after last year's success," said O'Hanlon, whose team was picked to finish third in the league's preseason poll. "Everybody came back in good shape. We're ready for a new season."
The season gets under way at 7 tonight when the Leopards travel to Staten Island, N.Y. to play Wagner.
Lehigh also opens its season 7:30 tonight at Penn State. The Mountain Hawks are led by Patriot League Player and Rookie of the Year C.J. McCollum. Penn State features Talor Battle (18.5 ppg).
Senior forward Jared Mintz (14.1 points per game), a preseason all-league selection, junior forward Ryan Willen (12.2 ppg), junior guard Jim Mower (13.8 ppg) and senior guard Ben Wheeler (4.3 ppg) are Lafayette's returning starters.
With four seniors and six juniors overall, the Leopards are experienced.
"That helps a lot," said Wheeler, "especially in our system with all the passing and cutting. We have a lot of continuity. The guys know where each other are going to be."
